Privacy Policy

- Your music stays on your computer. Audio analysis and video rendering happen in your browser. We never receive your audio unless you choose to turn on cloud sync.
- If you create an account, we store your email and your plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time: support@phrasecue.com.
1. Who we are
PhraseCue (“PhraseCue”, “we”, “us”) is an audio-reactive visual editor available at phrasecue.com. PhraseCue is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact support@phrasecue.com.
2. Information we collect
Information that stays on your device
Audio files you load, their analysis, your projects, uploaded images and exported videos are processed and stored locally in your browser (for example in IndexedDB). This data is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
Information you give us
- Account: your email address (used to sign you in with a one-time link), and optionally a display name.
- Subscription: your plan, subscription status, billing interval, renewal date and the Stripe customer ID linked to your account. Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Support & feedback: the email, name, subject and message you send us, and, if you leave the box ticked, technical details that help us fix issues (plan, browser and screen information, the name and tempo of the current track, number of scenes, page URL).
- Cloud sync (optional, paid plans): if you enable it, the projects, audio files and thumbnails you choose to sync.
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in session: a session token stored in your browser to keep you signed in.
- Service logs: our infrastructure providers keep standard logs (IP address, request time, error messages) for security and troubleshooting.
- Product usage statistics: the app sends simple feature events to our own database (for example "analysis finished", "export finished at 1080p", "opened pricing", and ratings or comments you choose to give). Events are linked to a random ID stored on your device and, if you are signed in, to your account. They never include your audio, file names, or project content. We use them only to fix problems and improve PhraseCue, not for advertising. We honour your browser's Do Not Track setting, and you can turn usage statistics off at any time with the switch just below.

Transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts, support replies) are part of the service. Marketing emails are only sent if you opt in.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run PhraseCue, under contracts that require them to protect it:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition (you will be notified). We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. Retention
- Account and subscription data: while your account is open, then deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting (usually up to 7 years).
- Support tickets: up to 3 years, then deleted or anonymised.
- Cloud-synced projects and audio: until you delete them or your account; deleted within 30 days after a paid plan ends and a 30-day grace period, unless you renew.
- Usage statistics: up to 13 months, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer relate to a person or device.
- Logs: typically 30-90 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email support@phrasecue.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), row-level access controls so users can only access their own data, and secret keys that never reach your browser. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Children
PhraseCue is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage that is strictly necessary for the service (sign-in session, your locally saved projects and preferences such as whether you have seen the guide), plus a random device ID used for the usage statistics described in section 2, which you can turn off. We do not use advertising cookies.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
